About the Blues

Blues dance is an African American vernacular dance that developed alongside blues music in the south of the USA in the late 1800s and early 1900s, and is still evolving today worldwide. Different series of dances from central or west african dances are mixed together after the emancipation of slavery and rooted in African American culture, influenced now by European dances, as well.
